2. Scat went to the creek with her kits. Big geese were near the stream
Scat went to the creek with her kits. Big geese were near the stream. The geese said, "Honk!"

3. Lad was hot. He went to the stream for a drink. "Honk, honk
Lad was hot. He went to the stream for a drink. "Honk, honk!" went the geese.

4. The geese ran at Lad. They nipped at his feet
The geese ran at Lad. They nipped at his feet. Lad let them see his mean teeth. The geese did not fear Lad. Lad feared the geese!

5. The geese chased Lad into the stream. Lad swam to leave the geese
The geese chased Lad into the stream. Lad swam to leave the geese. The geese swam to chase Lad.

6. Lad jumped from the creek into the mud. His feet were thick with mud
Lad jumped from the creek into the mud. His feet were thick with mud. But Lad was safe from the mean geese.

7. Lad ran to see Ben. He left a mess for Mom to clean.

8. Then Lad jumped at the screen. Jess squealed, "Lad, get back
Then Lad jumped at the screen. Jess squealed, "Lad, get back!” Mom sent Ben to take Lad to the stream for a bath.

But the geese were at the creek. Lad and Ben had to flee from the mean geese.

10. Mom and Jess ran at the geese with mops and pails
Mom and Jess ran at the geese with mops and pails. At last, the geese left. "Lad teased the geese," Jess said. “Then the geese teased Lad.”
