1 Marden Primary School Welcome to our school!

2 We are a ‘Good’ School Judged by Ofsted in March 2016.
Pupils have positive attitudes to learning and they behave well both in lessons and around the school. The quality of teaching is consistently good. Staff are constantly trying out different ways to help pupils improve. Governors are very committed to challenging the school to continually improve. Learning support assistants provide valuable help, especially to those who are lower attainers. The issues identified at the last inspection have all been addressed and pupils now have high aspirations.

3 Next steps We are aspiring to be ‘Outstanding’
There are plans to expand the school by to a two form entry school. We are one of 7 schools in the country to receive a grant from the Football Association for a Mini Pitch.

9 Admissions: Key dates Children born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 will start school in September 2019. You apply for three schools, in order of preference. Only naming one school does not guarantee getting a place in your first choice. Even if you have siblings at Marden Primary School, you still need to apply. Closing date for applications 15 January 2019. National Offer Day 16 April 2019. Places to be accepted or refused by 13 May 2019. If it has not been possible to offer your child a place at one of your preferred schools, you have the right to join the school’s waiting list and/or make an appeal. Appeals must be lodged by 21 May 2019. Vacant places reallocated by KCC by 12 June 2019.

10 Transition into school
Once places are accepted in April: Meeting for parents. Children come to school for activities in Summer Term. Teachers meet with you individually to discuss your child and their needs and interests – at school or as a home visit. Teachers visit your child in their preschool setting. You become part of our school community and can join in events and activities. In September we do phased entry so teachers and children get used to routines. We run workshops so you can support your child at home with what they are learning in school.
