3. Early Career Opportunities
Free and reduced Membership DUES
ASLMS offers FREE membership opportunities for medical students, residents, undergraduate and graduate students, fellows-in–training, and post-doctoral fellows for the duration of their training.
Reduced dues for 1st and 2nd year post graduate members
Annual Conference and Educational Grants
Students, residents and fellows-in-training receive waived conference registration fees and 50% off of pre-conference courses.
A limited number of educational grants up to $1,000 are available each year to present accepted abstracts
Research Grants
ASLMS annually awards research projects designed to foster the development and use of lasers and other energy-based technologies in medical and surgical applications.
As many as four student grants of $5,000 each may be awarded each year.
Facebook Discussion Groups
Exclusively for members of ASLMS, the Clinical Discussion and Early Career Network groups provide forums for networking and discussion of cases, procedures, recommendations for devices/settings, and everyday practices.

Preceptorship Program
The ASLMS Preceptorship Program provides a unique opportunity for ASLMS members who are early in their career to observe a successful practice in action, develop valuable career networks, and learn new techniques and perspectives in lasers and other energy based technologies.
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Four Student Board Representative positions on the Board of Directors of ASLMS offer a practical non-profit, non-voting board leadership experience and opportunities to receive mentoring from established leaders.
Resident Liaisons are appointed to share information about ASLMS with their programs
