1 Unit 7 – Written Business Communications
At the end of this course you will have the skills to write business documents clearly and accurately. You will be able to read and extract (use) relevant information to create documents such as: letters, s, faxes, memos, Forms, Agendas, Reports, Articles and job descriptions. Describe each skill. 27-May-19

2 What is Communication? Communication means giving and receiving information by writing, talking or using pictures. The aim of communication is to make sure that your message is understood by everyone concerned! Read section from page 3 re: Communication 27-May-19

You get a job working in and office, for example Vodafone UK you are asked to create and send different types of written communication and make sure that they are posted. You are also responsible for arranging meetings using a video conferencing unit. Some of the things you will need to think of are shown above. 27-May-19

5 Key Stages in the Communication Cycle
Sender thinks of a message Receiver gives feedback Sender puts the message into an appropriate form Receiver interprets the message Use my message. Sender actually sends the message Receiver understands the message - hopefully! 27-May-19

Extend your knowledge of language by reading Listen to what is being said Think and plan before you write/speak Use clear, simple language Consider other peoples view points Choose the correct method of communication Consider the best time for the communication Get feedback to make sure that the message was understood 27-May-19
