Balance

9. CONTOUR An object with a complicated contour seems heavier than a shape with a simple contour. COLOR A high-intensity color seems heavier than a low-intensity. So a small area of high-intensity color can balance a large area of low-intensity color.
VALUE An object in high contrast to the background will have more visual weight.
TEXTURE A rough texture has more visual weight than a smooth one.
POSITION A large object close to the dominant area of the work can be balanced by a smaller object placed far from the dominant area.
