2 Anemia: Iron Deficiency
Some causes for anemia: Loss of blood, Lack of iron in diet, Inability to absorb iron, Pregnancy Symptoms: Inflammation/soreness of tongue, brittle nails, unnatural cravings, poor appetite Who is at high risk: Pregnant women, menstruating females Prevention: Eat foods rich in iron and drink citrus juices

3 Colon and Rectal Caner Causes:
Smoking and drinking, not eating enough fiber, polyps (excess cell growth in the colon or rectum) Symptoms: Changing in bowel habits, weakness/fatigue, weight loss, rectal bleeding, cramps, gas, painful bowel movements Who is at high risk: Sedentary lifestyle, diabetes, smokers, drinkers, obesity, old age, exposed to radiation Prevention: Get screened for colon cancer and eat healthy

4 Diabetes Causes: Pancreas cannot process sugar, excess sugar intake
Symptoms: Increase thirst, frequent urination, extreme hunger Who is at high risk: Obese, family history of disease, sedentary lifestyle Prevention: Eat healthy foods, exercise, lose excess pounds

5 Heart Disease Causes: Overweight, smoking and lack of exercise
Symptoms: Stroke, high blood pressure, heart failure and obesity Who is at high risk: Elderly and people who are obese Prevention: Eat healthy, exercise and don’t smoke

6 Osteoporosis: Calcium Deficiency
Causes: Lack of vitamins—CALCIUM! Symptoms: Back pain, loss of weight and easily break bones Who is at high risk: Elderly women Prevention Calcium supplements, regular exercise and DRINK YOUR MILK!!!
