2. Friday April 21, 2017 On a coool spring day in April off the year 1910, William Howard Taft become the first US president to start the baseball season by throwing our the first pitch. He had come to League Park in Washington, D.C. to sea the Senators play the A’s. His tradition has carried on every sinse. What other base ball traditions do you know about?

3. The Book Thief Turn to page 211. We’re going to read to page 216.
As we read: Remember, while we’re not having a traditional reading guide over this section, we’re still going to have a quiz at some point! Make sure you’re annotating as we go for easy studying 

4. The Book Thief: Parts 4-5 Quiz!
In a moment, we’re going to take a quiz over parts 4-5 of The Book Thief. Take the next three minutes to more into testing position and hurriedly ask your seatmates what the heck happened in parts 4 and 5.
Once we begin, remember: no talking or cell phones. You’ll get one warning. After that it’s a zero. Oh no!

5. Standover Man Project
Product: Write and illustrate your own story similar in style to The Standover Man. First, choose a theme or a message that you want to share from your own life. Next, write a simple story to go along with it, and draw accompanying pictures in your own unique style. Your version should be similar in length to The Standover Man (200 words minimum). You should also include at least 10 pictures (while they don’t have to be colored, they should not be in pencil.). It should be neat, and your words should have depth.
Rubric:
Length: 200 words minimum ____/10 points
Pictures: 10 minimum pictures ____/20 points
Message/Theme: is evident and ____/30 points clearly important to the reader
