The Book Thief: Part 6-7 Quiz!
In five minutes we’re going to take a quiz over parts 6-7 of The Book Thief. Take this time to flip back through your text or talk about what’s happened so far with a partner.  Once we begin, remember: no talking or cell phones. You’ll get one warning. After that it’s a zero. Oh no!

The Book Thief Turn to page 420. We’re going to read to page 430, and then you’ll read and annotate pages on your own. As we read: Make sure you’re paying attention and annotating as we go! It will help you remember what’s happening.  As you read: Don’t forget to annotate! You will need at least one well-thought out, 2+ sentence annotation per page

Butterfly Projects During this unit, we’ve focused on the story of Liesel Meminger, a fictional girl who lived during the Holocaust. For this project, we’re going to shift our focus to non-fiction. Your job for the next two days will be to choose a card with a real person who lived during the Holocaust. You will read the information about their life and represent them on a paper butterfly you will create to be displayed in the classroom. Take the next five minutes to choose a card from the front table. Pick someone you’re drawn to.

Butterfly Projects Now that you’ve chosen your Holocaust victim, your job is to represent their life in the form of a paper butterfly.
