Supports & holds anther. Part of stamen. Anther Part of stamen, contains pollen. Ovary Eggs stored here, join with pollen. Stigma Sticky to catch pollen. Petal Brightly coloured Stamen Male part of flower. Makes pollen. Made up of anther & filament. Carpel Female part, seeds made here. Consists of stigma, style, ovary. Stem Green stalk. Provides support. Sepal Special leaves form ring around bottom. Protect the buds. Style Supports stigma Receptacle Top part of stalks where flowers attached.

8 Flower dissection Carefully remove the parts of a flower
Lay it out on he bench. Sketch it in your book. Label what each part is & what it does.

9 Questions Does a flower have more or less male parts than female parts? Why do you think this might be important?
