2 Introduction The Cochran Lifeguard CPU Dive Computers transmits a signal to the Lifeguard D1 to display dive data. The Lifeguard D1 is used by the diver to see the dive data and the Lifeguard D1 is also used to see this same data remotely at the surface. The remote Lifeguard D1 receives this signal using the Audio Communication Line. A Lifeguard Pickup is placed near the Lifeguard CPU Module and is inserted between the Audio Communication Line and the diver’s mask to transmit this signal. A Lifeguard Antenna Adaptor is inserted between the OTS Buddy Line and the Audio Communication Line. The Lifeguard D1 is connected to this adaptor to receive the signal from the Lifeguard CPU Module. The Pickup is passive and requires no batteries. IMPORTANT: Always keep the Pickup terminated. This means it should be connected in a system or the two connectors on the Pickup should be connected to each other.

3 System Overview Pictured is the Lifeguard D1 attached between the
Communication Line and the OTS Buddy Line. Pictured is the Lifeguard CPU unit attached to the Lifeguard Pickup and the pickup inserted between the Communication Line and the diver’s mask.

4 Lifeguard D1 Connection
The Communication Line is disconnected from the OTS Buddy Line and is inserted into the right side connector for the Lifeguard Antenna Adaptor. The OTS cable is inserted into the left side connector for the Buddy Line connection. The opposite end of the OTS cable is inserted into the OTS Buddy Line at the Com 1 or Com 2 connector.

5 Lifeguard Pickup Install
Disconnect the Communication Line from the diver’s mask. Insert the connector from the Lifeguard Pickup with the Yellow band into the connector for the Communication Line. Insert the opposite end with the Blue band into the connector for the diver’s mask. The barrel portion of the Lifeguard Pickup will need to be close to the Lifeguard CPU unit to pickup the signal. A Velcro strap can be used to attach the Lifeguard Pickup. The Pickup is passive and requires no batteries. IMPORTANT: Always keep the Pickup terminated. This means it should be connected in a system or the two connectors on the Pickup should be connected to each other.
