Vandals-from N. Africa, sacked Rome in 455 A.D.
476 A.D.- Romulus Augustus the Western Emperor was killed by Ostrogoths, or Western Goths

Christianity-Christianity focused on individual, not the state
Rome failed to advance technology due to slave labor (less invasions=less slaves)
