Ex: Silver A main idea is a complete sentence about the topic Ex: Silver has many uses. Details describe the main idea Ex: Silver is used to make coins. Tableware is made of silver. Silver is used in wiring.

7 Comparative Adjectives
Adjectives describe nouns and pronouns Comparative adjectives are used to compare two people, places, things, or groups Add –er to most short adjectives to make their comparative forms Ex: That girl is shorter than her sister. Use “more” with longer adjectives Ex: That girl is more athletic than her sister.

8 Superlative Adjectives
Superlative adjectives are used to compare three or more people, places, things, or groups. Add –est to most short adjectives to make their superlative forms. Ex: She is the shortest of the three sisters. Use “most” with longer adjectives Ex: She is the most athletic of the three sisters.
