WHMIS stands for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
The purpose of WHMIS is to reduce injury, illness or disease caused by exposure to hazardous materials.

There are now WHMIS symbols and Hazardous Household Products symbols
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are now called Safety Data Sheets (SDS); with no expiry dates

Each symbol has two types of warnings:
Whether the hazard is the container or contents
The type of hazard

SDS has sixteen different parts that give the user more detailed information about a dangerous product.
You do not need to memorize these, but just be aware of them.
