Newsletter March 2019
Spring Term
Our topics for this half term are focused around the children’s interests and include Easter, and spring.
School leavers group photograph
Tempest photography will be at Bizzy Bears on Monday 11th March at 9.00am to take a group photograph of all our school leavers. If your child does not attend this session and will be going to school in September 2019 they are invited to come in at 9.00am to have their picture taken.
World book day
On Thursday 7th March we will be celebrating World Book Day. Children are invited to come to Preschool dressed as their favourite book character. We will be sharing books and taking part in Literacy themed activities.
Comic relief 2019
On Friday 15th March we are asking everyone to join us wearing red and their Comic relief noses at Preschool for a small donation, to raise money for this years comic relief appeal.
Families coffee morning
We would like to invite parents/carers to contribute their ideas and views to enable us to plan activities and experiences for the future (this years summer trip,etc). We will be holding a coffee morning with free refreshments, on Thursday 21st March at 9.10am-9.45am for parents to share their views. So please come along and join us.
Children’s Progress
Your child’s key person will sharing information on your child’s progress in the form of a development summary which will be sent home with your child w/b 25th March. Please feel free to comment and share information from home. Your child’s keyperson will be available w/c 25th March should you to wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s development. Please speak to them to arrange this.

2. Two,Three and four year old funding
Policy of the month
We have a comprehensive set of policies and procedures that Bizzy Bears follows. To familiarise parents/carers with our policies this term we shall be focusing on one policy per month. This month we have reviewed and amended our Home visit, Lost child and our sickness policies. A copy of our all of our policies can be found in the policy book in the changing room and on our website. We can also parents a copy if requested.
Lunch boxes
Lunch time is a sociable occasion where the children can sit with their friends and enjoy eating their packed lunch. We encourage the children to become independent by opening their own lunch bags, food wrappers and containers. We also encourage the children to eat savoury items first. Although it may look messy we put any uneaten food back in the lunch bags so Parents/carers can monitor what your child has eaten. Please can we also ask that you supply a drink with your child’s lunch. Can we also ask that all lunch boxes and drinks bottles are named to prevent lost items.
Two,Three and four year old funding
Parents of children eligible for the summer term funding (2,3,4 and 30hr funding) will need to complete a parent/carer declaration, which will be given out at Preschool w/c 25th March You will need to provide your child’s birth certificate (if we do not already have a copy) and a current utility bill displaying your postcode(no older than 3 months). We are required to retain a copy of each child’s birth certificate and utility bill, these will be kept in a safe and secure file only accessible to the Northamptonshire county council when required. All forms need to be completed by Thursday 28th March. Families of 3 and 4 year olds may be able to claim up to 30 hours a week of free childcare if they are both working or if you are a lone parent working. Mobile telephones
As part of our Safeguarding procedures please may we remind parents and visitors to the Preschool not to access their mobile phones whilst in the building. Please can we also ask that all calls are terminated before picking up your child.
Absence
If your child will not be attending Pre school due to illness etc please telephone Bizzy Bears and let us know on the telephone numbers at the top of this newsletter so that this information can be recorded in our register.
