1 Mathematician’s Journal Setup
Put your name on it!

2 Turn to the back page of your journal.

3 On the page opposite the table of values, glue the grading rubric.

4 Now, count back for 15 pages (front and back) and put your Glossary tab there.

5 Letter each page starting with “A”
Glossary A Glossary Go all the way to “x, y, and z”

6 Now, glue your vocabulary list assignment onto the page opposite your first glossary page.

7 Now, go to the first page and write “Table of Contents” at the top.

8 Give yourself a couple of pages for the Table of Contents
Give yourself a couple of pages for the Table of Contents. Then, start numbering your pages. 6 7

9 Now, place your 5 colored tabs on the inside cover of your journal.
Table of Contents These will be used when your journal is graded.

10 When I want to grade your journals, I will give you a journal grade assignment sheet like the one below. Name ___________________________________ Due November 11, 2017 Journal Grade #2 1. _______ Place the yellow tab on your Rational number notes. 2. _______ Place the blue tab on your Complex Fraction notes. 3. _______ Place the red tab on your Integer notes. 4. _______ Place the green tab on your Two-step Equation notes. 5. _______ Place the orange tab on the Algebraic Expression definition in your glossary. _______ Total Journal grade SAMPLE

11 It is very important that you do not lose your journal, because you will have to redo any notes or glossary definitions if you do.

12 I have allocated space for you to keep your journal in the classroom, but you may take it home to study/work on at any time.

13 Now, get ready to do some MATH! 
