1 Using Your Agenda 2014-2015

2 Why do I need an Agenda? Helps you to stay organized. Helps you to remember important school and personal events. Helps you remember what was covered in class, and what needs to be done at home. Allows you to record grades and set goals. Most adults require some kind of agenda/planner. Your agenda will go with you to EVERY class, EVERYDAY!

3 Did you notice? the monthly calendar at the top left hand corner of the pages? each day has a space for you to record assignments for language arts, math, science, social studies, and additional space for electives? the inspirational sayings and other “goodies” in red letters on each page? The “Test Tips” on page 113?

4 Did you notice cont.….. “What Matters Most” on the top, right of each page? And the interesting facts just above there? the Mathematics section with orders of operation, a multiplication chart, formulas, and other useful information? (R-8 through R-10) the Periodic Table on R-11? the maps located on the last couple of pages?

5 Assignment 1.Using a pen or permanent marker, print your first and last name on the front cover of your agenda. 1.On the 1 st pg after the cover, print your name and address once again. 2.Also, find a secret location somewhere in your agenda to place your name a 3 rd time, so that only you will know where it’s located. 3.Read over pg 2-4, with your class, on using the Think, Record, Act and Check.

6 Assignment 5. Turn to pg. 22 and look for… Think- left hand side of each page that allows you to write down some things you want to remember for the week-brainstorm section Record- top of each day that allows you to write down important things you need to do for the day Act- bottom of each day that allows you to plan out the times you need to do schoolwork in the evenings Check- place a checkmark by the things you completed, and transfer the things NOT done over to the next day

How many sides does a heptagon have? 8.Using the maps, what is the capital of Argentina? What is the abbreviation for Kansas? 9.What day of the week is your next birthday? 10.Turn to your neighbor and tell them 3 things you plan on using your agenda for.
