2 Aims of the Session By the end of this meeting you will:
know WHY we are going know WHO will be accompanying your children know WHERE Kingswood Centre is know WHAT we will be doing – outline know WHEN we will be leaving and arriving know WHAT IS NEEDED ….. have QnA session – hopefully relieving your fears LEAVE happy and reassured

3 WHY ? Year 6 is a tough year for your children
Year 6 requires children to work cooperatively, supporting each other Year 6 children need to develop a rapport with their teachers based on trust Year 6 need to develop strategies to face fears Year 6 need to develop INDEPENDENCE To fulfil some of the requirements of the Geography curriculum

4 MRS Hyland: Year 6 teacher. Has led many residential visits.
WHO? MRS RAWLES – 16 years experience at Grange and Year 6 teacher who has led may different trips. MRS Hyland: Year 6 teacher. Has led many residential visits.

5 WHO? MR PRINCE: Volunteer in school for last 6 years. Been involved in scouting for several years (assistant Scout leader) taking part in number of residential camps with children. This is his sixth residential for the school. Mrs Carmen Classroom assistant with Year 6 MRS ANNALLS – classroom assistant with significant experience.

9 WHEN – key information for you.
Children come to school with SUITCASE at normal time of 8.30am on MONDAY 9th OCTOBER We will meet in the hall. All medicines must be labelled with Child’s name Dosage Intervals Further Action to be taken Money ( A MAXIMUM OF £20 per child (anything in excess will be confiscated) in a NAMED PURSE Please bring a PICNIC lunch with you in a DISPOSABLE carrier bag which we can throw away once eaten. PLEASE ENSURE TRAVEL SICKNESS TABLETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR OUTWARD JOURNEY. – ie Packed Separately!

Monday 9th October Departure from Grange Community Junior School at around 9am Scheduled arrival at Osmington Bay at 12:30 Friday 13th October Departure from Osmington Bay 14h00 Scheduled arrival back at school at approximately 6pm PLEASE NOTE THIS AN APPROXIMATE TIME. WE WILL USE PARENTMAIL TEXT

Travel Sick Pills Pocket money  purse Medication – labelled with name and dosage. FRIDAY 13th Oct Please be here or arrange for someone to COLLECT your child and suitcase  NO WALKING HOME ALONE.
