1 Year 6 Residential Visit Derwentwater 2017

2 Purpose of this meeting:
Inform you of our residential itinerary To show you some of the places the children will visit To confirm arrangements for leaving and returning to Winsford To confirm list of clothing and equipment the children will need To answer any questions you may have

3 MONDAY: Meet at school @ 8.30am Board coach on Verdin centre Car Park
Travel by coach to Lakeland Motor Museum

4 Monday: Travel by coach to Haverthwaite Steam Railway

5 MONDAY: A Lake Cruise on Windermere

6 Derwentwater Youth Hostel

7 The Restaurant A view from the hostel Dormitory Accommodation

8 TUESDAY: Activity Day 1 A combination of Ghyll Scrambling
Rock Climbing / Abseiling Canadian canoeing Raft Building

9 WEDNESDAY: Circular hike beginning at and returning to the hostel.
This will take the whole day and will involve a circular walk of the lake..

10 THURSDAY: Activity Day 2 A combination of Ghyll Scrambling
Rock Climbing / Abseiling Canadian canoeing Raft Building

11 Friday: Pack bags and leave hostel Travel from Keswick to Leighton Moss Bird Reserve Lunch Board coach and travel to Winsford Arrive in Winsford by approximately 5.00pm

12 FRIDAY: : Leighton Moss Bird Reserve:
Group work on bird identification, pond dipping and walk around the reserve.

13 Monday 19th JUNE Children to be at school at 8.30am with luggage and lunch/drink and swimming kit in a separate bag Friday 23rd JUNE We plan to be back between pm We will stay in contact with the school around these times. Please contact the school for updates no earlier than 3.00pm

14 Clothing/equipment: A kit list has been sent home, spare copies are available… Cameras will be the responsibility of the children The children will be fed, so there is no need to provide any food, other than the lunch for the first day, a snack for afternoon tea and a SMALL amount of sweets for the journey. Other electrical items (Electronic games, mobile phones, etc) MUST NOT be taken. Pocket money should be no more than £8.00 and should be contained in a small wallet or purse.
