Secret Santa for your child will be due this week!
We will be working on base words ending in –ing and –ed 1-10 (asked, asking, grinned, grinning, hugged, hugging, helping, helped, shopping, shopped. Students are to work on these words over break. We will have a spelling test mid-week on their return. NO spelling test this week!
Reminders: Reading Homework Log due 12/10
Read for 15 minutes and complete Backpack page 38 Reread “The Big, Bad Blob”
Spelling – Write base words ending in –ed and –ing 1-5 (asked, asking, grinned, grinning, hugged) in short simple sentences Remember to start with a capital, circle your pattern word, and use an end mark to close your sentences.

Tuesday 12/18 Christmas Gift Shop, please place money in holiday envelopes!
1. Read for 15 minutes and complete Backpack page 39 cut, keep home and study your list!
2. Spelling – Write base words ending in –ed and –ing 6-10 (hugging, helping, helped, shopping, shopped) in short complete sentences, please add heading (Name and Date) to your spelling homework!
3. Go Math Lesson 5.4 (Use addition to Subtract) pages

Parent Note: Tomorrow will be our Christmas Play, first grade colors are red and black. Girls to wear red or black dresses and black shoes, Boys black dress pants, white shirt, black shoes and a red or black tie.

First grade Handwriting Contest packet submitted, please review and complete over the break! The forms are due on your child’s return for review.
Reminders: It’s time to replenish your child’s supply box, please have your child return with fresh crayons, pencils, markers and a plastic red folder on his/her first day back!
