1 Search Sites for Finding Sources
Google – EBSCO – JSTOR – GALE – go through Leland Home Page Make sure you are using a variety of sources for your research. It is highly advised that you use at least one source from an academic journal. Also, make sure you are citing the original source for research, not someone else reporting on that research.

2 Annotated Bibliography
An annotated bibliography is a list of sources together with a very short description and evaluation for each source. Annotated bibliographies are useful to: 1) Keep track of the sources you have found. 2) Help you understand how these sources can contribute to your overall argument. 3) Provide me with evidence that you have actually researched various sources for your work.

3 Annotated Bibliography
There is no universal standard for the format of an annotated bibliography. For this class your annotated bibliography must include. 1) The title, author, publication and date for each source. 2) A short summary of the text. 3) A short summary of the credibility and relevance of the source. 4) A brief comment on how you might use the source (list key evidence, for example).

4 Upcoming Due Dates Tuesday, Jan. 15 – Beginning of class At least 2 annotated bibliography entries from each person. This can be a hard copy or a shared document. Thursday, Jan. 17 – Beginning of class At least 7 annotated bibliography entries from each person. This should be a separate document from your 2 annotated bibliographies!
