Criteria and Goals for Reading Enrichment  The student: · can accurately read text at grade level or above and use it to draw conclusions or complete activities without assistance, · can fluently read text at grade level or above, · demonstrates strong vocabulary that adds to the ability to comprehend and write at grade level, · can orally deliver his/her own thoughts and ideas to a class in a confident manner, and demonstrate effective listening skills, · can write with strong organization and structure; express clear ideas; demonstrate strong skills in the use of the English language, · can use technology to demonstrate any of the skills above.

6 Supplies 2 packs (at least) of notebook paper that you leave in the classroom Pens/ pencils (for your own use) Independent reading book (a book you are reading for pleasure) If possible, please send tissues and hand sanitizer Homework Every student must read at least 30 minutes per night during the school week. This is to ensure that students are continually adding to their personal vocabulary. One of the biggest differences between below average students and above average students is their vocabulary. Students acquire their vocabulary through reading and meaningful discussion with adults.  Other homework will typically be assigned weekly.. When homework is assigned, students will be expected to responsibly write it in their planners. I will sign the planners of students who bring the planner to me to sign. Please check the "HOMEWORK" link above to review any current or past homework assignments.
