2 Today’s Agenda Welcome
2. Club dues for snacks and other activities. Snacks will be available at the next meeting. Beta Club members must pay a one time fee of $15.00 to cover their transfer to the Elite Junior Beta Club. The transfer rule was changed in 2015. Annual dues of $20.00 are due by September 14th. Dues will cover various club activities. 4. Community service outside the school: remember to have your forms signed and dated. You should have five hours or more towards your ten hour requirement for the year by December 1st. Forms are available on the Google Classroom site. 5. Grades: Please bring your report card to the next meeting for review. Members should maintain a “B+” average. 6. Family Movie Night Fundraiser (suggestions of movie and date?) 7. Questions and Open forum Next Meeting: September 14th, 2017

3 Hour Sheets Members of the Beta Club must commit a minimum of 20 service hours to their school and 10 service hours to their community. We will complete service projects throughout the school year to meet the community service requirement. These hours can be gained by any act of volunteering. Members cannot be paid for their help. In addition, these hours must be logged on the Hour Sheet members are provided with, and the activities must be signed by the person the students are helping. The hour sheet is available in the Beta Club Google Classroom.

4 Your Grades Beta Club members are expected to set an academic example at Elite. You should make A-B or A Honor Roll. A GPA that falls below 3.0 will lead to dismissal from Beta Club.

5 Fundraising Ideas Beta Convention was awesome and we would love for more members to attend next year. To help support our mission of service, we will host a Family movie night fundraiser in 2018. Other fundraising ideas include: hat day, sponsoring a concession stand during athletic events.

6 Officer Descriptions President: leads Beta Club meetings and induction ceremonies Vice President: leads when the president is absent; has a speaking role in induction ceremonies Secretary: keeps track of club attendance and is encouraged to produce a monthly Beta Club newsletter; has a speaking role in induction ceremonies Treasurer: leads fundraising activities; has a speaking role in induction ceremonies

7 Beta Club Officers Application
Application is available in the Google Classroom. Applications are due by September 8th.
