3 1st – Protects the rights of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition.
2nd – Citizens have the right to bear arms (own guns). 3rd – Citizens cannot be forced to house troops in their homes 4th – Citizens cannot have property searched or seized without a warrant 5th – Citizens cannot be tried without an indictment. They cannot be subject to double jeopardy. They have the right to due process of law. They are protected from self-incrimination.

4 6th - Every citizen has the right to a speedy, fair trial by jury, the right to know the charges against them, and the right to an attorney. 7th - Every citizen has the right to a trial by jury in civil matters exceeding $20.00. 8th – No citizen shall be subject to cruel or unusual punishment. 9th - The rights of citizens are not limited only to the rights in the Bill of Rights. 10th - All rights that are not given to the federal government are reserved for the states.

12th - It changed the way the President was elected. It made the president and vice-president elected together. 13th - It outlawed slavery in the United States. 14th - It defined U.S. citizenship. 15th - It gave African-Americans the right to vote. 16th - It allowed the government to collect Income Tax. 17th - It established that Senators would be elected by popular vote and not by state legislatures. 18th - Prohibition Amendment- It banned alcohol in the United States. 19th – It gave women the right to vote.

20th - It changed the date that the president takes office after he is elected to January 20th. “Lame Duck” amendment. 21st - It repealed Prohibition and made alcohol legal in the United States. 22nd – It limits the President to only two terms in office. 23rd – It gave Washington D.C. an electoral vote. 24th - It banned poll taxes in the United States. 25th – It changed the way a vacancy in the Vice Presidency was filled, and it provided a way for the VP to take over for the President if he is disabled. 26th – It changed the voting age to 18. 27th - It established that if Congress votes itself a pay raise, the raise is not effective until after the next Congressional election.
