1 OCR Nationals ICT – Unit 22 Task Overview You will be creating an audio clip of at least 30 seconds that mostly consists of audio you have recorded yourself. All other audio must be created digitally. Using the Booklet This booklet contains everything you will need to complete this task, divided up into 2 sections. 1.RED SECTIONS – Explain exactly WHAT you have to do. 2.GREEN SECTIONS - Give you the space to put your evidence

2 Task 1 In this task you will be looking at 3 existing audio clips and reviewing them. You will be looking at a variety of ways of checking to see if they are effective. Part A You should identify the purpose and audience of each audio clip – what is it trying to achieve? Part B You should give a thorough explanation of the good and not so good features of each audio clip, with reference to purpose and audience. You will suggest improvements, explaining how these would help each audio clip meet its purpose. Part C You should identify features from your reviews to use or avoid in your own audio clip. You will explain why you will use/avoid these features in your audio clip. OCR Nationals ICT – Unit 22

9 Task 2 In this task you will be producing documents and sketches that detail everything about the Audio Clip you would like to make. Part A You will describe the purpose and audience for your audio clip and explain how these will influence your design. Part B You will record at least one sound effect. You will prepare a script for speech and record the prepared script. Part C You will provide a timeline showing the sequence and duration of all components for an audio clip of at least 30 seconds. This will include different types of sounds, details of all content, editing of components required, timings, transitions and effects. The design will cover all content, will be logical, well structured and could be followed by a third party. OCR Nationals ICT – Unit 22

10 Task 2 Part A – U22S10 – Audio Clip Planning OCR Nationals ICT – Unit 22 Describe the aim of your audio clip: Who is the intended audience for your audio clip? How will the audience influence your design?

You will import and use an appropriate range of sounds including music, sound effects and speech, this will include the components you recorded yourself. You will use and edit multiple tracks effectively and apply effects that enhance the final product. Transitions between different sounds will be smooth. The audio clip will have good clarity and the quality of all components and effects will be effective. All components will be synchronised effectively. Part B The audio clip will be exported in a suitable file format and size, applying appropriate compression. You will justify the file size and type used, giving reasons for rejecting alternatives.
