2. What’s Next?
Once you have completed your graduate program, you must apply for the license to be added to your current NC teaching license
You will apply through the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Online Licensure System
After graduation, you will receive an from me with a link to the Online Licensure System and instructions for completing your application

3. Steps to completing the application
If you do not already have an account with the NC DPI Online Licensure System, you will first register for your account
Click the NCDPI Registration link on the licensure application homepage and complete the account registration
Note: Use a personal address that you are able to log-in to as this address will be connected to your licensure account and your UNCW account will eventually expire

Once you have registered for your account, you will log-in to the application system.
Next, you will choose the type of application you would like to complete from a drop-down menu
The type of application you will need to complete is: “Add Area by Program Completion”
You will then be directed to the Introduction page of the application 

Next, you will click on each of the tabs on the left of the page to complete the application
Under the “License Area Verification” tab, choose each of the options selected in the image on this slide  and save.

Upload your Official Degree-Posted Transcript
For the “Attachment Type” drop-down, choose “All Official Degree Dated Transcripts
You will receive detailed instructions in the from me for how to order the appropriate transcript for your licensure application – Be sure to choose “Hold for Current Semester Degrees – Spring” when ordering

If you choose “yes” for either question, you are required to submit a detailed explanation of the incident in the box provided and upload court records in the attachments tab
If you have to upload court records, you will choose “Court Documents” for the Attachment Type

8. Steps to completing the application cont’d.
The final step is to review your application and submit the $60 application fee
Once you have completed your application you can log in to your account any time to check the status of your application
Once I have reviewed your application and submitted to NC DPI, they will review your application and issue your license
You will be able to access your updated license in your account and will have the option to print if needed
