1 New Laws England passed a new law.
It created the Proclamation Line of 1763

2 The law kept the colonists from moving west of the Appalachian Mountains.
After all, we fought for the land didn’t we? There’s some great farming land there!

3 This is when trouble began between the colonies and England

4 Taxes To make matters worse, the King of England decided to tax the colonists to pay for the war We went to war to protect our colonies, why shouldn’t they pay?

5 New Taxes Sugar and molasses An added stamp to anything printed Tea

6 Anger about the taxes brought the colonies together

7 They began to protest

8 the Boston tea party Colonists dressed as Indians throw tea  into the water to protest the tax on tea.

9 Quartering Act 1774 when there was no place for British soldiers to stay, the town or city had to provide living quarters for the soldiers

10 1775 It is not long before fighting breaks out between the New England colonists and British troops

12 1776 It takes over a year for the colonies to unite against the British On July 4, 1776 the united colonies declare independence from the King of England.

It lists the many objections the colonists have towards the British It declares Independence from the English crown
