The process of establishing a community based post disaster vision and identifying projects and project funding strategies best suited to achieve that vision, and employing a mechanism to implement those projects Typically a week planning process setting the blueprint for community recovery Shaped by the community, resources available and damage sustained Importance of planning beginning pre-disaster

Rebuilding a community after a major or catastrophic disaster is a huge undertaking. The most effective way to accomplish holistic post‐disaster redevelopment is to be prepared before a disaster strikes.
