2 General Election Campaigns
Many fundraisers are held so the campaigns can pay for advertisement and outreach Candidates tend to focus on “swing states” more than other states since these states are extremely close in the polls Debates are held to inform voters and to give voters impressions of how the candidates are

4 The Electoral College This is the group of people that officially chooses the President and Vice President Members cast their votes based on which candidate won the most votes in their state Exceptions: Maine and Nebraska If no candidate wins at least 270 votes, the House selects the President

6 Issues With the Electoral College
the winner of the popular vote is not guaranteed the presidency (example: 2000) electors are not required to vote in accord with the popular vote any election might have to be decided in the House of Representatives
