A noun can be a subject complement. A subject complement follows a linking verb such as am, is, are , was, or were. A subject complement renames the subject. Ex) Martin Luther King Jr. was a minister. Martin Luther King Jr. = minister

3 Direct Object pg. 14 in TB A noun can be used as a direct object of a verb. The direct object answers the questions Whom or What. Ex) Charles Schulz drew cartoons. Charles Schulz drew what? Cartoons.
