24 Electives Your first elective should be your next level of Foreign Language. Next you need to put in your required Academy Program of Study class. All Round Rock High School Students must be in an Academy Program of Study. The Programs of Study are grouped by academy on the choice sheets. The courses for each Program of Study are listed in the order in which they should be taken.

25 Electives (Continued)
Following that should be any graduation requirements you have not met yet (P.E., Fine Arts). Juniors and Seniors will not be allowed to have an off-period if they have failed a course. They will be placed in Credit Plus (or repeat the failed course) instead. Any student failing an EOC exam will be required to take an EOC remediation class in lieu of an elective or off period.

26 Alternate Electives Since you may not be able to get in every elective class you want, be very certain you put your three alternate elective choices in the order of your preference.

27 Things to Remember! Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, softball, all bands, Dragonettes and several Academy classes are double blocked and therefore take the place of two classes. When you are not sure, ask your current teachers which class you should sign up for next in that subject area. Challenge yourself but know your own limits, especially if you are involved in extracurricular activities. Review course descriptions carefully in the on-line RRISD course catalog! If you do not turn in a course verification sheet, your counselor will select your courses based on your four-year plan.

28 Choose Courses Carefully
Master schedules and teacher hiring are based on student requests; therefore, only schedule change requests based upon the list below will be considered. Schedule changes will be considered during the first 5 class days for the following reasons only: Student is a senior not scheduled in a course needed for graduation. Student has already earned credit for a course in which he/she is currently scheduled. Student does not have the prerequisite(s) for a class listed on his/her schedule Student has previously failed a course with the same teacher. Student has been dismissed from a program where approval must be granted for placement. Student does not have a full schedule. Data entry error (class listed twice, free period, class already passed, etc.) has occurred. Student needs remedial coursework for STAAR or graduation.
