Thank you for investing so much in our school! Important Information Please help us get the word out! PreK Preregistration will take place from February 1st-March 8th. Stop by the elementary office for the preregistration packet. After completed packets are turned in at the office, the parents will be contacted concerning a screener appointment at Puckett Elementary. Our current preschoolers have had a great year with lots of learning and a whole lot of love with their amazing teachers, Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Overby, and we can’t wait to meet a new group of students! Project Graduation is sponsoring a Sweetheart Dance on Saturday, February 9th. $15.00 per child (includes entry fee, one slice of pizza, a cookie, and a drink. Kindergarten-2nd Grade 5:30-6:50 p.m. 3rd-6th Grades 7:00-8:30 p.m. Photos will be available for an additional $5.00 fee. For more information contact Angie Bradshaw or Betsy Boone FCCLA will be selling Valentine Candy Grams starting this week for the LOW price of $1.00! The Candy Gram includes a gourmet lollipop on a heart-shaped gift tag. Orders will be taken through February 12th. Sixth Grader Shines Brightly at the Regional Reading Fair We want to congratulate Meredith Shivers on receiving 2nd place out of 19 students across the region at the Regional Reading Fair on January 25th in Meridian. This is a huge accomplishment to make it this far and to receive a place makes it even more special. We are proud to have someone from Puckett Elementary represent us so well. Great job, Meredith! Puckett Elementary Piano Students Recognized Congratulations to Lainey Dotson for her achievement of receiving Superior rating at the Mississippi Baptist Hymn Festival. Lainey takes lessons from Ms. Williamson after school each week. We are so proud of your achievement! Counseling Corner Mrs. Ledbetter is planning an awesome Career on Wheels Day for Prek-3rd grades and a Career Fair for 4th-6th grades. These exciting events will take place on February 12th. In addition to these events, she will be holding engaging lessons this month on careers. We are planning for our future success!

To celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday in a fun way, students are invited to dress the part from some of our favorite Dr. Seuss books during the week of March 4th. Excerpts from these books will be read aloud on the intercom each day, and activities will correlate in classrooms and in library. Please see the dress schedule below. We can’t wait to see everyone ready to celebrate a love for reading!
