2 What is PIREDEU? ‘Providing an Infrastructure for Research on Electoral Democracy in Europe’ Feasibility study of an infrastructure for the EES Audit of electoral democracy in Europe Continuity with past EES data collection efforts Open to new themes & proposals Proposals for questions & coding categories

3 Data components Voter survey: post-election survey in all member states of the EU Candidate survey: candidate survey of all candidates standing for EP elections Media study: content analysis of news during the campaign Manifesto study: content analysis of all party manifestos Contextual data study: collection of contextual variables
