10. What was the purpose of the 1881 Austro-Serbian alliance? How is this similar to the dual alliance? The Austro-Serbian Alliance was made to prevent Russia from gaining control of Serbia. It is similar to the Dual Alliance because they were both made with Russian protection in mind.
