1 Ancient China ABC Book Made by: John Brake

2 A is for altitude From great Altitude (space) you could see the great wall of china

3 B is for boom China discovered how to use gunpowder to make explosives

4 C is for Compass The ancient Chinese invented the compass with a magnet that always points north

5 D is for Dynasty The first dynasty that was believed to exist was the Xia dynasty, but no one is for sure.

6 E is for elephants The Asian elephant was located in China and killed for its value of ivory tusk.

7 F is for Fishing Birds In Ancient China, Fishermen would have long skinny boats with birds on them. The birds would have rings on their beaks so they couldn’t swallow the fish but the whole time their feet are tied to the boat

8 G is for geography China's geography has tons of mountains in the hymalaians, but some parts are flat wetlands.

9 H is for the Han government
The Han government created meritocracy. Meritocracy made it to only the smartest people could have jobs for the government and other things.

10 I is for ink Ancient china used ink, invented in the Han dynasty, to stamp on paper they made and to write letters to others.

11 J is for jobs In ancient China jobs were hard to get during the Han dynasty. The reason why is that there was a hard test you had to pass to get jobs, but not all passed.

12 K Is for kite Kites were used on the great Wall to signal others far away.

13 Lis for Lacquer Lacquer was a type of paint traded on the silk road.

14 M is for money Money was turned into all the same in the Qin dynasty. The Qin dynasty made basic unit copper coins as the base of money.

15 N is for Name China got its name from emperor Qin, he wanted everything about him so after he made china strong he changed the name after himself.

16 O is for Oracle bones Oracle bones were turtle shells and other bones engraved with letters, that were thrown on the grown to predict the future. Which were invented by the Shang dynasty.

17 P is for porcelain Porcelain, also none as China (the glass) was invented in the Shang dynasty. Porcelain is a type of pottery. Porcelain is so durable pieces from the Han dynasty have survived.

18 Q is for Qualified The Zhou Dynasty was qualified to be rulers because they didn't take over china so they could rule. What they were, they were chinese decedents that were kind and had the mandate of heaven.

19 R is for road The silk road was a trading route. It was from China to Europe.

20 S is for seat Confucius believed that young people should respect there elders and give them there seat.

21 T is for the Terracotta army.
The Terracotta army consisted over 8,000 statues made to protect emperor Qin’s tomb.

22 U is for utensils The Zhou Dynasty invented chopsticks for eating.

23 V is for Vanish Confucianism hasn't vanished from china, in fact, Confucianism has been around for mor than 2 millennium.

24 W is for wet Parts of ancient china stayed very wet, that is why rice was so easy to grow in ancient China.

25 X is for Xia The Xia dynasty was the first know dynasty. But since we have no physical proof we can't actually say it exist

26 Y is for Yellow River The yellow river was a very important river to Ancient china. The reason why is it was a geological feature that gave locals fresh water.

27 Z is for Zhou The Zhou Dynasty was a strong dynasty but as time went on they soon got weaker and lost there throne.
