3. Jonah Prayed Jonah 2
2Ki 14:23 ¶ In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash, king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, became king in Samaria, and reigned forty-one years.
2Ki 14:25 He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath as far as the Sea of the Arabah, according to the word of the LORD, the God of Israel, which He spoke through His servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.

4. Jonah and Jesus
But He answered and said to them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Matthew 12:39-40
There are TWO parallels between Jesus and Jonah. One is the consumption of Jonah by the fish (whale in KJV), the second is the preaching of Jonah. This moment compares to the mind of Jesus when He was in the grave. Therefore, this prayer is particularly insightful
