3 TYPES OF NOUNS Proper~ a name used for an individual person, place, or organization. Common~ a noun denoting a class of objects or a concept as opposed to a particular individual. Examples

5 Verb A word used to describe an action, state of being, or occurrence. Types of verbs

7 Adverb A word used to describe a verb, adjective, or another adverb.
An adverb answers the questions: How? How Often? When? Where?

9 Interjection Is an abrupt remark, made especially as an aside or interruption.

10 Conjunction A word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause. F = For A = And N = Nor B = But O = Or Y = Yet S = So

11 Preposition A word that links nouns, pronouns, and phrases to other words in a sentence. Examples: of, with, to, at, over, before, between, after.

12 Pronoun A word that may be substituted for a noun or a noun phrase.
