4 Part 0 Go to lab 21 – Stages of Human Menstrual Cycle
Read page 1 of 15 and answer the questions in your guided notes Time to complete Questions 1-5: 8 minutes Finished? Check your answers with the answer key and staple your homework to the back of the lab.

5 Part 0 Questions 1. As levels of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) increases what happens to eggs in the woman’s ovaries? 2. What does high levels of LH (luteinizing hormone) do to the follicles holding the eggs?  3. What does increasing levels of estrogen do? 4. What happens to the level of estrogen if the egg remains unfertilized?    5. How does a decreasing level of estrogen affect the lining of the uterus?

6 Part A Directions: Using the data from page 3, create 4 graphs on page 5. After you complete each graph, answer the questions on page 8 You are expected to finish graphing AND answering the Graph conclusion questions in the next 20 minutes

10 Discussion Questions Based on part 0, how do hormones affect the menstrual cycle. Pick one hormone and explain how increases or decreases in that hormone affect menstruation. Based on Part C, how does the body react when there is fertilization vs when there isn’t fertilization? Why?
