2 Hormones of the female reproductive cycle: Anterior pituitary gland: Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH): Stimulates growth of ovarian follicles, and estrogen production by ovary Lutenizing hormone (LH): stimulates follicles to produce hormones builds and maintains the corpus luteum after ovulation Ovary: Estrogen: causes follicle to mature, including stimulating meiosis Progesterone: aids in ovulation and then, in building uterine wall
