Summary 64 character or less description of what you’re testing and what went wrong or is needed as a result of testing. Type Is the logged issue a “Defect” or an “Enhancement”? Severity (1-Critical, 2-High, 3-Medium, 4-Low) The degree of impact that a defect has on the development or operation of a component or system. (ISTQB) Description Steps to reproduce the defect Mention all the steps that were followed to arrive to the failure point Expected Result Mention the expected result at the step at which the test script has failed Actual Result Mention the actual result at the step at which the test script has failed Status (Default) New. The defect “Status” indicates the lifecycle stage at which the item is in. All parties, including the creator, are involved in updating the status. New -> Open -> Ready for Test -> Fixed -> Closed. -> Failed -> (Back to Open) Detected on Date (Default) Current Date Detected By (Default) Users NetID

13 Create New Defect – Additional Attrib.
Detected in Release Used to group defects across multiple test cycles to a common Release objective. (Default) Release 4; after Cycle is selected Select: “SIT-ISR” Detected in Cycle Used to group defects within a given test cycle. Resolution Category The root cause of the identified issue and the responsible area to provide a resolution. Select: “Integration” Functional Area The team or department by which the defect has been discovered in or is impacting. Select: “ISR – General” Assigned Name (RO) The full name of the person to whom the defect is currently assigned Priority (1-Urgent,2-Very Hih,3-High,4-Medium,5-Low) Indicates the importance or urgency of fixing a defect. Though priority may be initially set by the Software Tester, it is usually finalized by the Project/Product Manager. The level of (business) importance assigned to an item, e.g. defect(ISTQB)

To view only defects associated to WD R4 Impacted System Remediation use the provided Favorite titled “All Defects” To view defects within the WD R4 ISR test cycle which are Assigned to you use the provided Favorite titled “Defects Assigned To Me” To view defects within the WD R4 ISR test cycle Detected by you use the provided Favorite titled “Defects Detected By Me”

20 How to search and find text Indicator Columns (4 on the far left)
View Defects The Data Grid provides you the ability to view, filter, and sort defects similar to Excel. Filters can be provided both from the blue filter icon the toolbar as well as via the input cells above every column. At the top of this pane you will see a string representing the filter and sorting applied to the current view. How to search and find text Strings with spaces required double quotes (“) around search string Wildcards can be used in filters by placing an asterisks (*) You can re-order columns simply by dragging and dropping them Indicator Columns (4 on the far left) A paper clip indicates the item has an attachment A chain link indicated the item is linked to another defect or test scenario A bell indicated the item has alerts attached to that item A flag indicated you have a reminder attached to that item.

21 View Defect Details Details of the selected defect will be displayed in the details pane. From here a user has the ability to: Read a defects summary and description View and add comments View all attachments Navigate to linked entities
