Any material that attracts iron or anything that contains iron

Electrons Spin, which creates a tiny magnetic field.
Materials that are not magnetic have most of their electrons paired, which cancels out the magnetic fields.
Materials that are magnetic have their electrons unpaired. This means that all the tiny magnetic fields are added together.
