5. General Routines
Breakfast Club – available every morning from 8 – 8.45am (doors shut 8.30.) Cost £1 each day
SWAP - available every day for P1 – P3 pupils from 2 – 2.55pm. Cost £2.50 per day – form and money must be returned by the Friday of the previous week. Bookings later than Friday will not be accepted.
Break Monday – Thursday Children are encouraged to bring or buy a healthy snack for break Friday – Treat Day
Break trolley - 40p for fruit, yoghurt or healthy bun

6. General Routines
Pupils come into school unaccompanied through the front door.
Please ensure there is an adult at the front door on time at 2pm to collect your child
Pupils bring “zippys/book bags”, break, pencil case and a water bottle into the classroom
All dinner money must be sent in on Monday in a named envelope (cost is £2.60 per day)
Money envelopes can be purchased from the office at a cost of £2
Please send a note after an absence to enable us to select the correct code for our online registration.

9. Assessment
Continual assessment takes place in the classroom throughout the year.
This includes:
Teacher observations
Baseline assessments
End of topic tests
Spelling and reading assessments
Progress in Maths
Progress in Literacy

10. P.E. Information P.E. is on a Wednesday and football is on a Tuesday
Children should come to school in P.E. kit on those days:
School polo shirt, navy shorts/tracksuit bottoms, black P.E. shoes or trainers
Due to Health and Safety it is recommended that earrings and jewellery should not be worn on P.E. days

11. Homework
Spellings/tables Monday – Wednesday. These should be copied correctly into blue books and learned thoroughly for a test on Thursday. Blue books will be collected on Thursdays.
1 English/Topic and 1 Maths sheet per week.
Homework file must be handed in on Friday.
Homework must be of the highest standard.
Unacceptable homework will be returned to be redone with an accompanying note.
All homework must be signed.

12. Reading
Reading books are introduced to some groups on Monday and some groups on Tuesday and then prepared in class throughout the week. A new book will not be given unless the old book is returned. They need their book in school each day.
Please write the book title, pages read (e.g. 1-8) and sign the reading record each time you hear the reading book.
We also encourage the children to read for pleasure and would ask that a book of their choice (and at their reading level) be kept in their zippy folders.

13. How can I help my child? Listen to your child reading every day.
Go over spellings/tables each night.
Insist on your child’s best work when completing homework.
Keep in close contact with teacher.
Make sure your child has the following items every day:
HB Pencils
Twistables
Gluestick
Rubber
Whiteboard pen
Book bag/zippy
