2 Addressing Failing Grades Possible Consequences
Classroom Procedures Letter Grades Come into the classroom quietly and calmly. Sit down in your seat and prepare for class. sharpen pencil follow any instructions posted turn in homework etc. Immediately begin the bell work (if present). During Instruction: listen to the teacher/speaker with full attention no pencil sharpening, talking, moving about the classroom or whispering ask permission by raising your hand and waiting quietly to be called on after instruction, make sure you understand the concept and if not Ask Questions 5. While you are working: a. follow instructions for given task b. use your inside voice (if permitted) c use your time wisely 6. End of Class: a. don’t pack up until instructed to do so b. I dismiss you, not the bell *I will raise my hand to get your attention stop what you are doing at that moment face the teacher and wait silently quietly, notify those around you that I have raised my hand no talking or whispering. All of your attention should be given to me. When letter grades are used, the following conversion table shall be used: A = 90 – 100 B = 80 – 89 C = 70 – 79 F = 69 – below *70 is the minimum for a passing grade* Late Work 1. One Day Late = 30 pts off 2. Two Days Late = 50 pts off 3. Three or More Days Late = 0 Addressing Failing Grades student must Earn the Right to Retest or Correct an Assignment by attending tutorials make-up tests will be given during tutorial time student has THREE days from the time the graded assignment is received to complete tutorials and make-up work/test the MAX grade on a corrected assignment is 70% nine week exams Cannot be corrected Course Outline Possible Consequences Demonstrate Professional Standards & Employability Skills Develop a Supervised Agricultural Experience Program Demonstrate technical skills associated with the management and production of horticulture plants Identify structures and physiological processes used in plant production. manage and control common pests of horticulture plants. Demonstrate marketing and management skills used in operation of horticultural businesses.
