Information Technology is widely known at “IT”. IT includes all layers of all systems within the County's IT infrastructure: Computers, Servers Telephones, Mobility Operating System, Software, Databases Internet, Wireless Networks (WiFi) 24 August 2018

4 Department Roles & Responsibilities
The IT Manager’s role is to provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing IT initiatives and entrusted with the responsibility: Providing technology based solutions that are innovative and secure Managing an efficient and effective delivery of IT systems, within policies, directives, and strategic plans Prepare, develop, and maintain the IT Operating and Capital budgets Upkeep and maintain all IT, Telecommunication and Mobility contracts and leases Maintain a positive work environment that follows the County Safety policies Doug Burke IT Manager May require more than one slide 24 August 2018

5 Department Roles & Responsibilities
The Computer Technician is responsible for: First level technical support for the County’s line of computer/mobility applications Actively resolving end user help requests Training and support for computer systems and installed applications Installing, testing, implementing, and documenting computer related hardware and software Interaction with other County employees, as well as contractors and software vendors George Illes Computer Technician May require more than one slide 24 August 2018

IT is entrusted with the fundamental responsibility to provide technology based solutions that are innovative, secure, efficient and cost effective to enrich the overall function of County government May require more than one slide 24 August 2018

7 Strategic Plan IT Department operates and meets the values and pillars as per the Strategic Plan: 19.3 Deliver our County services in a cost effective and efficient manner 19.4 Ensure a high level of accountability in all we do Maximizing technology is an ongoing Strategic Initiative: Under this model all Departments of IT services will pay for that service All costs are recovered as well as funding to be transferred to Reserves for future IT purchases May require more than one slide 24 August 2018

14 Successes Significant Successes During the Last Budget Cycle:
Installation of new: GIS Server Scheduled installation replacement of Firewall Routers in all County Offices/Shops/Airport This provides Secured Internet Access in-between the Offices Scheduled replacement of over 40 mobile phones Assisted with the Development of the “County App” for mobile devices Software Licensing/Renewal - ensuring all software products are current and properly licensed 24 August 2018

15 Challenges/Opportunities
Increased demand for internet services (cloud computing, wireless services and, social media) Mobility services (determining how to deploy corporate applications securely to mobile devices) Increase in volume and complexity of IT maintenance tasks and support - present IT support covers 4 locations To maintain the integrity, reliability and confidentiality of the systems and data entrusted to us May require more than one slide 24 August 2018
