2 Language Arts – Warm Up 02/06/18
Literacy Lesson #2 (Day 2) First, submit your completed literature circles sheet, adjectives sheet, “Inferences Worksheet 6” and/or Short Essay to the homework bin. Then, read “The Carpenter” and “The Carpenter’s Apprentice” a second time. You should have kept this packet in your Writing Portfolio. After you have read “The Carpenter” a second time, answer the MULTIPLE CHOICE questions only! We will complete the writing/short response parts tomorrow. Once you finish the multiple choice questions, finish: Complete the “Making Predictions” worksheet; Any incomplete double-entry journals (6 so far); and Any incomplete work in your reading portfolio.

Standard: ELASE6RL1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Learning Targets: Identify claims. Elect your position on these claims. Support your claim with logical reasoning and relevant evidence.

Making Predictions First, read each scenario. You can annotate to help you! Your annotations key is on page 49 in your I.A.N. Use COMPLETE SENTENCES for your answers. This completed sheet is due no later than tomorrow. Once you finish: Complete the “Making Predictions” worksheet; Any incomplete double-entry journals (6 so far); Any incomplete work in your reading portfolio; and Read independently.
