Many important undertakings have been initiated this year to help support advisors and their business growth.
Advocis implemented a new membership fee structure effective January 1, 2017.
Advocis subsidizes membership costs for new advisors through their first six years in practice. This provides you with an affordable way to invest in your professional development and acquire your designations early.
Once you’ve been a practicing advisor for 7+ years, you become a full paying member of Advocis. If you’re an Institute designation holder, your annual designation fees for the CLU and CHS are included in your annual Advocis membership cost.
You’ll never pay more than the Advocis full fee.

This slide illustrates Advocis’ new Thrive in Five program.
The Thrive in Five program was developed to support new advisors in their early years as they begin their career in the financial advice industry.
Advocis subsidizes membership costs for new advisors through their first six years and offers all advisors an integrated designation pathway to professionalism.
Advisors can earn their designations quickly in their early years by leveraging common curriculum throughout the CHS, CFP, and CLU designations
By taking advantage of this program, you are provided with an affordable and accessible way to jumpstart your career early on by enhancing your credibility in the marketplace through designations.

6. Integrated Designation Pathway to Professionalism
Take one course and you’re on your way to three designations!
Leverage common curriculum throughout the CHS, CFP, and CLU designations to gain the confidence to have enriched conversations with business owners, high net worth clients and other professionals.
Designations help build credibility when starting out in the industry but also help us to enhance our skills once we’re more established.
Advocis has developed a designation path that outlines how the curriculum of the CHS, CFP and CLU overlap.
If you take a look at this slide you’ll see that you only need to take three courses to earn your CHS designation. One of those courses will also count towards your CFP and CLU designations.
From there, to attain your CFP you would only need to take 3 additional courses plus the capstone course.
Once you’ve earned your CFP, you now only need 3 more courses to receive your CLU. So in total, by taking 10 courses, you’ll earn 3 designations.
By following this path, new advisors can earn a designation quickly and begin building their credibility.
