Too often we rely on telling sentences which use the “be” verb (am, is, are, was, were, have, had, has, and be). Good writing includes showing sentences which utilize STRONG verbs.
Example: These sentences are stupid. – telling sentence
These stupid sentences bore me to the point of lost consciousness.
Directions: Rewrite each sentence so that it includes a strong verb.
My teacher is slightly crazy
The calico cat was a nice cat.
My friend is mean to her sister.
The concert was fun.
