Language Arts – Warm Up 01/10/18
School-wide Literacy Lessons – Day 2 First, turn in “Alphaboxes – Nouns” if you did not turn it in on Friday. Next, read the directions for “Day 2”. (You stapled these directions in your writing portfolio yesterday.) Then, complete steps 1-3. Today – Classroom Spelling Bee! You will need a sheet of notebook paper.

Essential Questions: How can I support a claim with logical reasons and relevant evidence from texts? Standard: ELASE6RI1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Learning Targets: Identify claims. Elect your position on these claims. Support your claim with logical reasoning and relevant evidence.

School-wide Literacy Lessons – Day 2 Now that you have finished steps 1-3 based on passage one, complete steps 4-6 based on passage two. For step 7, write your position (the way you feel/your opinion on these topics/the side of the argument you chose) on the bottom of the “Writing Task” page, under the bullet points. Keep all of your materials in your writing portfolio folder. If you do not finish in class, you must finish all of today’s steps for homework. If you finish early, you may read independently.

Language Arts – Closing Session 01/10/18
Independent Reading You should be on your FIFTH book of this school year, at least. Your next Biblionasium book review will be due Friday, January 26, 2018. Be sure that you have completed your book before Friday, January 26, 2018! Homework: Finish any incomplete steps from today.
