October 6, 2000 Permit Fees Residential July 1, 2005 and forward $250 one time, not retroactive Applies only to: New construction Major reconstruction Heavy Maintenance Fees used to enhance the Permitting Program Administration Increased monitoring/surveillance and permit enforcement Training programs for contractors and realtors Commercial and Special Use Permit Fees Fee determined by the complexity of the application and impact to project lands and waters. In order to better protect our lakes and enhance the recreational experience for all lake users, APC has revised the existing Shoreline Permitting Program. These revisions will help better protect our lakes for the enjoyment of future generations. The Shoreline Permitting Program also will help preserve water quality, prevent erosion, and improve fish and other wildlife habitat. These enhancements will be accomplished through stricter permit enforcement and expanded efforts to educate stakeholders about best management practices and policies on issues such as seawall and causeway construction, dredging and maintaining vegetative buffers. Collection of fees will help to accommodate these program enhancements, as well as position APC to add shoreline surveillance personnel and equipment as future need dictates These revisions to the Shoreline Permitting Program are being made after a comprehensive review of this program, which was prompted in part by the consideration of various concerns identified by some stakeholders participating in APC’s Coosa River relicensing process May 24, 2007 Martin Informational Meeting
