TEACHER’S NAME: Ms. Hawkins ADDRESS: Week of: August 28 – September 1, 2017 Classroom News Daily Schedule Homework: All homework will be given on Monday and is due on Friday morning. Reading: The children are to read 20 minutes each night. Please write the title of the book in their agenda each night. Take home books need to come back to school each day. Dismissal: We want to say THANK YOU to all of you for being so patient during dismissal. It will get faster. Please help us by having your car tags each day. Tardies All students are to be in class by 8:45. Please drop car riders off early enough for them to eat breakfast and get to class on time! Monday, August 28th 6:00 – 7:30 See where your child is learning and meet their teacher! The teachers will be giving you important information about the year. *Remember, this is not a conference time. No school on Monday, September 4 for Labor Day! ! Related Arts Schedule Monday – Library Tuesday – PE Wednesday – Music Thursday – PE Friday - Computer Why Read 20 Minutes a Night? Building 20 minutes into each day for reading together provides this important bonding time. There is nothing more wonderful than snuggling a young child on your lap while reading a few storybooks aloud. Even if your child is beyond the “snuggling” stage, spending 20 minutes reading independently provides you with quiet, uninterrupted time together engaged in the same activity.
