2 Two-Party System Throughout our history, the United States has remained a TWO-PARTY SYSTEM.

20 1828 Andrew Jackson Creates Democratic party and wins 1828 election to become 7th President. Represented the “common man”. Vetoed more laws than any other previous President (12) Used the army to forcibly remove Native Americans from their homelands Threatening to use the army to collect protective tariffs in South Carolina.
